Hello, I’m an OCT-certified educator with intermediate/secondary chemistry and math as my teachables. Besides teaching, I also like to podcast!

  • Undergraduate Studies

I did an Honours BSc in chemical physics at the University of Toronto. In 3rd year, the Chemical Institute of Canada awarded me the Book Prize Award for high standing in chemistry. I gained a strong understanding of chemistry, physics, math, geology, and geography. The next step for me was to build upon the computational applications.

  • Graduate Studies

I decided to do an MSc in Chemistry that focused on coding. I coded in C++ to conduct thesis research on modelling micellular drug delivery. To support my work, I took programming courses by SciNet High Performance Computing Consortium. I also worked as a lab demonstrator and teaching assistant within the chemistry department.

  • Internship

Towards the end of my MSc, I had the opportunity to be an intern at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia. I worked with the Computational Bioscience Research Center. My research required coding in Java and looking at factors influencing semantic similarity in an ontology.

  • Teacher’s College

I completed a 2-year Master of Teaching program at OISE for intermediate/secondary chemistry and math. I learned about supporting ELLs, anti-discriminatory education, design of online environments, special education and mental health, Indigenous experience, authentic assessment, technology, science beyond the classroom, ESE, and conducted qualitative research on anime.

  • Teaching

    I have taught a variety of courses for DDSB, YRDSB, and TDSB to adults and teens. Courses include CHV2O, GLC2O, MAT1L, MTH1W, MPM2D, MEL3E, MBF3C, MCF3M, MCR3U, MHF4U, MCV4U, SNC1L, SNC1W, SNC2D, SCH3U, SCH4U, TIJ1O, BBI2O, BTT2O, CIE3M, IDC4U (Sports Marketing). I primarily use Google Meet, Zoom, Google Slides, Google Sheets, GoodNotes, and Desmos to teach. I try to make assessments user-friendly and ESL-friendly.
